Original WW2 tent canvas - US ArmyItem shows quite a lot of wear, a couple of holes, rust, dust, stains, and there is a very strong smell to it. All ropes are present though.The previous owner (from France) specified that the tent came from the DZ D area.
A rare D-Day relic named to private Jack Swinney, G Co 506 PIR 101st ABI will let you give a closer look at the stencils.Swinney was killed in actio...n on June 6, 1944 and was first buried at Hiesville cemetery.His remains were later transferred to Blosville temporary cemetery and in 1948 he was permanently buried at Normandy American Military Cemetery (located at Omaha Beach), France.
This is not a M2 helmet nor it is a M42 jacket... this is a random piece of equipment, a simple witness of the greatest military invasion of all time.
