You are bidding on an American redware mud dish (saucer orplate). We believe it to be circa 1840, Pennsylvania or New England origin.It isdedicated in the center of the dish “Mary” in yellow slip script.
It is 6 ½” in diameter and about 1 ¼” deep.
The bottom is a wonderful leathery patina with the number“4” impressed in the middle.
Condition: Expected wear and chips around the rim (pleasesee all photos). Otherwise, no cracks, hairlines, or repair...s. Pretty nicecondition for a piece of pottery of its age.
