You are looking at an plains style pipe bowl made from genuine pipestone which was quarried from the sacred pipestone quarries at Pipestone National Monument located near by. The bowl itself measures 2-1/2” long and stands 1-7/8” tall. The stem measures 6” inches long connected with the pipe the total length is 8” inches long. The bowl is made from top layer pipestone. Deep Red base with very tiny light spots and larger patches of lighter colored almost a pink or salmon natural...ly placed through out the pipe. The pipe has a tight seal of pipe to stem also giving it an excellent draw and is drilled straight.It is new, will be fully functional, never been used or blessed. It would also make a fine addition to any personal collection should the buyer decide not to use it as a functional pipe. The stem is made from California Redwood Sanded smooth. It is also rubbed with an oil to highlight the natural beauty of the wood grain. It is also decorated with bead work laid on a deer hide leather fringe. Bead colors are the a variation on many different colors. I have signed the pipe “Loud Thunder” as that is my given Indian name. I am a 5th generation pipe maker.
