Atari Mega STE 4mb, UltraSatan, 1. 44, Gotek And Much More
Item History & Price
This is a 4mb Mega STE US model I bought last year and upgraded pretty much everything. It's in great condition, case looks great, keyboard works perfectly (US model keyboard, not a Euro/UK import here), along with mouse. I upgraded the floppy drive to a 1.44mb mechanism (correctly done, with the proper PAL and OEM Atari AJAX floppy controller, works perfectly at all speeds, densities), added a MicroGotek that is switchable from A to B with the 1.44 (for booting ST disk images) w...ith a custom 2.42" OLED screen and a custom VME slot cover with the Gotek ports. I also installed a UltraSatan dual SD card HD/storage system in place of the old bad SCSI drive, with the proper internal UltraSatan cable. I also installed a 68882 math coprocessor with proper PAL, upgraded to TOS 2.06, and replaced the old loud fan with a new quiet high flow model. I will also include the original ACSI controller (modified to allow drives up to around 2tb in size, but you're really limited to just under 8gb due to current TOS limitations). I'm also including a Hippovision capture cartridge + software (I haven't personally tested this, but the disk reads and it looks to be in good condition), MultiTos on disk, Hoyle's Book of Games, ST Writer disk, HyperPaint 2, plus a few other disks with utilities and such on them (drivers for the UltraSatan device) and a 8gb USB key with various ST disk images needed for the system. I've also included a NetUsbee (allows you to connect the machine to the internet via ethernet, and also allows you to use USB devices), a Mega STE diagnostics cartridge, and a UBE Atari to VGA adapter (for use with a 15khz capable multisync monitor).
I used this machine mainly for games, and playing around with various Midi programs outputting to my MT32 and SoundCanvas midi devices, but I find I don't use it nearly as much as I'd like, so I'm selling it to someone who will.
The buy it now price is much lower than I paid for everything installed in this system (by at least $150 USD), and these machines don't come up that often anymore (especially the US-spec models with US keyboard).
I also have the external housing for the UltraSatan that will be included (in case you want to use the internal ACSI card and the Ultrasatan externally).
IF you are local and want to pick the machine up, I do also have a NEC LCD1970NX multisync monitor that works great with the UBE switch in both color and monochrome (supports the 15khz signals from the ST and other machines from that era) that I would be willing to sell also.
