Excellent quality genuine 171 year old example, definitely all original and matching; a very nice shape with an attractive embossed foliate border and has an ornate scrolled silver handle. Complete with its original detachable silver candle sconce and also has its original silver candle snuffer, (rare to find these all complete). There are no engraved personal monograms or crests and it weighs a heavy 80 grams.Measurements Measures approx 3.1 inches (78mm) (including handle) x 2.7 inches (68mm) wide and it stands 2.7 inches (70mm) in height, (including snuffer). It rests on a circular pedestal base which is 1.95 inches (49mm) in diameter
Date English antique 19th Century early Victorian solid sterling silver, with full English silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1848, (date letter "E with crown"). Marks include the lion passant silver stamp and the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria. Good clear matching hallmarks on all 3 pieces, 100% guaranteed all original.Maker Silversmiths initials "TI over NC", (Thomas, James & Nathaniel Creswick - 1827-1848).
Condition Lovely antique condition, with no nasty knocks or dents, just tiny age-related surface bruises, really nothing much. The scrolled silver handle is undamaged and the removable candle sconce and snuffer are both in great condition and are definitely the originals. Missing its short attachment chain on the snuffer, but easily replaced if wanted. Beautiful quality and so hard to find one all matching. There are no added personal engraved monograms or crests.
