CHELSEA4 INCH DIAL MILITARY CLOCK – US ARMY CLOCK MESSAGE CENTER - WW2 ERAOffered for sale is a Chelsea 4-inchdial military clock with the black12-hour dial with the military time inset aswell. I bought a collection of clocksand this clock was in that group. Ibrought the clock home and wound it up and it has now been running for severaldays without issue. This clock also hasthe ability to do time adjustment without removing the bezel, a picture of theadjustment devi...ce is attached. Thisclock has some case issues that I need to point out and because of this, the clockshould be considered for parts or restoration only. Someone used wood dowel material to replacetwo of the three ears inside the case that hold the movement in place. Also, the hour hand has come loose but thatwould be easy to repair. The movement anddial are still in good shape but to make this clock right, a new case should beobtained. The threaded bezel is still ingreat shape. A picture of the inside ofthe case is provided. Bottom line is, this clock has historical value due to its war time service and my hope is to getit into the hands of someone with the skills and the passion to restore it to itsformer glory.The original serial number on theback of the clock was 419303, this number was crossed out and serial number414335 was added. This new numbermatches the number on the movement. This indicates that the clock was made between1940 and 1944. The back-flange measures 5.75inches, the clock comes with a proper fitting key and will be double-boxed toproperly protect it during shipping. Shipping will be $20 via USPS Priority Mail.
