This pin is the word "LOOK" in sterling silver with stones in the shape of eyes that have been carved out a naturally occurring Agate that has layers of colors. This is the same technique that is used for cameos - utilizing layers of color in a stone or shell to make a design in the finished piece.Giant prongs hold the Agate eyes in securely. Those stones aren't going anywhere but you will be when you wear this small work of art.
Handmade in my studio during the 80's but this o...ne was never worn before. This used to be sold in museum stores (Whitney, SFMOMA), boutiques (Barneys, Fred Segal) and small artisan craft stores.
3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide x 3/4" deep
Sterling silver with natural (not dyed) Agates
pin stem is nickel silver with 1.5" pin stem and nickel silver rotating clasp
Grid picture has 1/4" squares
