"Sports" has three soccer players going after a giant (to them) Aventurine ball (bead). You can see from the back view that the figures are fully sculpted. An archway acts as the frame for the action and a base for the players to be soldered to and the bead to be riveted on. There is a double hinged pin back (wire goes through tube at top of arch) to add to the stability of wearing this little pin. The clasp for the pin is 14k and special type. You just open the clasp and t...hen press the pin stem (on one side) into the clasp and it closes automatically. It's a great design that's easy to use and stays closed. Security for this little piece of art and action.
Handmade in my studio during the 80's but this one was never worn before. This used to be sold in museum stores (Whitney, SFMOMA), boutiques(Barneys, Fred Segal) and small artisan craft stores.
