Here's an extremely rare NC Pottery Double Rebecca floor vase that was made at J.B. Cole's in Seagrove, circa 1950. This piece was made by Waymon Cole, and is shape W-31-15.5" in the company's old 1943 catalog. The 15.5" measurement is to the rim, but it stands 17" tall at the top of the handles, and measures about 8" wide across the handles. It is colored in a dark cobalt blue & white flambe glaze. The flambe glaze is usually a lighter blue, and has a good bit more snowy white mot...tling to it. I have about 30 pieces of Waymon's flambes in my personal collection ( from which this also comes), but I prefer them a bit more snowy. I have recently acquired a 24" double rebecca, but in order to get that in the house, something else has got to go, so this is it. The blue and white glaze was listed as a "Standard Color" in the old catalog, but it seems that it was not a popular color, as so very few of them ever show up. I have owned 7 or 8 of these doubles over the years, but this is only the 2nd one I have ever seen in this glaze. Another one popped up on Ebay a little over a year ago, but it had some serious issues. This one is as close to perfect as you can get. No damages, no repairs. It's got to go, so a low opening bid, and no reserve! Due to several changes in rates and Dimensional Size regulations that were updated by USPS just 2 weeks ago, I do realize the shipping charge on this may seem high. We can ship it Parcel, but only to long distance Zip Codes, as USPS does not give you an option for Parcel to most Eastern US Zip Codes anymore.
