A FINE  ANTIQUE CHINESE FILIGREE SILVER CASE INSCRIBED 'PRESENTED BY THE OFFICERS OF SHANGHAI POLICE FORCE TO WILLIAM RAMSBOTTOM ESQ AS A MARK OF THEIR ESTEEM AND GRATITUDE UPON HIS RETIRING FROM THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT APRIL 1864'. WITH DRAGON AND FLORAL FILIGREE DECORATION IT IS IN REASONABLY GOOD CONDITION AS SHOWN. I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO WHAT IT WAS USED FOR BUT IT MEASURES APPROX 5" IN LENGTH X 2" IN WIDTH AND WEIGHS141 GRAMS. A LOVELY EXAMPLE BEING OF...FERED FOR AUCTION WITH NO RESERVE.
