Excellent quality genuine 252 year old sterling silver example; a nice early shape decorated with attractive embossed flowers and foliage, with a scrolled silver handle and it rests on 3 attractive silver cabriole legs. Complete with its original gilt-lined interior and it has a good heavy silver weight, approx 98 grams. Decorated in the cartouche with a fine period engraved estate crest. Measurements Measures approx. 4.1 inches (104mm) in height (including handle), x 3.85 inches (96mm) wide including handle and spout.Date English antique 18th Century Georgian solid sterling silver, with a full set of silver hallmarks for London 1767 (date letter "M"). Marks are all readable, includes an early lion passant/gardant silver stamp and the crowned leopards head stamp. Pre-dates silver duty so no duty mark.Maker Silversmiths initials "F.M" - (1765 - 1767). Condition Lovely condition with no splits or repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, just a few minor little age-related surface bruises, really nothing much at all and a fine genuine antique example and a good early date. The scroll handle and 3 cabriole legs are all undamaged and much of the interior gilding is still mostly all intact. Beautifully decorated and with a good heavy silver weight. Ready to be used.
