This auction is for an ANTIQUE AMERICAN PEWTER TEAPOT, Palethorp & Connell, Phila., PA., c. 1820 - 1840. This classically shaped pewter teapot has an attractive turned design to the body. TThe pewter teapot has an impressed arched mark in the underside of the base that reads, "PALETHORP & CONNELL. - PHILADA.". This is the mark of John H. Palethorp & John Connell. This firm worked out of Philadelphia, PA.in the middle of the first half of the 19th century. This mark can be found in "...GUIDE TO AMERICAN PEWTER" By Carl Jacobs, page 143, where a teapot was valued at $65.00 back in 1957.

DIMENSIONS: The pewter teapot is 7 3/8" H. x 4 5/8" Dia. and 10 1/4" L. from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle.
CONDITION: The condition is very good with some minor scratching and denting to the body of the teapot. The black paint is also missing from the handle.
