This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is signed suriage, "Kawachi-no kami Fujiwara 河内守藤原", shinogi-zukuri shape, Edo period ca.1700 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome temper pattern throughout the blade and ...has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, no openings and no blisters. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard, no dents, no crack, no lacquer loss and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with copper fuchi/kashira, tsukaito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Tsuba is nadekaku shape iron sukashi tsuba, signed "Mitsuhiro 光廣" with nice patina. It measures 21+3/8" cutting edge, 1" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch and 30" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Payment due with in 3 days auction end.
