Terrific 1883 letter written by an Indian Trader at Fort Bennett, Dakota Territory (now South Dakota) - writes about a cattle drive around the Moro River - see typewritten transcript in the scan. References Indians several times, and where they live, the Indians can't get across the high water rivers to trade, how they used ropes to get a cow and calf across the flooded river and more. At the last sentence, the writer references the "Agency" which wa...s the Cheyenne River Agency - stationed at Fort Bennett.
