The competitive world of Parisian porcelain making in the 19th century produced an era of superb quality. Paris hosted many studios known for producing exceptionally beautiful and highly coveted porcelain wares.
These plates are part of a Paris porcelain service, purchased at an estate sale full of high-end china and crystal, that is being sold separately. Although the ...other pieces in the set are also unmarked, its teapot, sugar bowl and creamer are in the exact shapes and sizes of an authenticated "tete-à-tete" tea service for two that was produced in Paris and decorated by one of the many studios in and around rue de la Paix in the mid-1800s.
Design: These exquisite plates feature rich gold scrollwork and are trimmed in gold. Finely hand painted multi-colored flowers decorate the rims.
Size and weight: The plates are 6 3/4 inches wide and together weigh 3 pounds 12 ounces.
Condition: There are no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, stains or significant scratches. There is major wear, especially on the edges and the gold circles at the center.
Despite the wear, these plates remain very beautiful.
Please check the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
