Gilt school crest to the centre of the frontboard, including Minor Poems, Sonnets, Odes etc. Illustrated throughout.xxxvii, [iii], 440pp Approximately 7 ¼ inchestall. ConditionReportExternallySpine – good condition – gilt titles on brown label, 5 raised gilt bands separating 6 compartments with elaborate gilt decoration, the outer tips of the spine are also gilt.Joints – good condition – gently rubbed.Corners – good condition – square.Boards – good condition – full polished calf bound by Bickers & Son, gilt school crest to the centre of the front, both boards have gilt lined borders with tiny floral corner detail, the outer edges of the boards are also gilt.Page edges – good condition – all gilt.See above and photos.InternallyHinges – good condition – intact.Paste downs – good condition – marbled with gilt dentelles.End papers – good condition – marbled, the bookbinders name is printed in the top left hand corner on the reverse of the front end paper, free end papers are tanned and foxed.Title – good condition – black text within a red lined border, tanned and foxed.Pages – good condition – b/w portrait frontispiece ‘Milton’, pictorial half title page, all text on each page is with a red lined border, a number of plates throughout, light tanned with some foxing.Binding – good condition – attractive.See photosPublisher: see above.
