The Napco prospect was originally investigated for gold but it also held copper, lead, silver and zinc values. I don't think that it ever saw actual production. Bart loved visiting these remote and obscure localities that were little investigated as he was always searching for species, etc. that went unreported. Arsenopyrite ores often carry significant gold values and perhaps the arsenopyrite would have been a prominent ore mineral at this prospect.
This is a rich and heavy piece--I can see no arsenopyrite crystals but there are a few pyrite crystal faces. Bart told me that Washington was home to an unusual number of antimony and arsenic occurrences and, that while perhaps best known for its quartz crystal specimens, it might rightly be known as the Antimony/Arsenic State. Bart answered an ad I put on mindat.org many years ago where I stated that I was interested in obscure locality ore specimens. I knew of Bart but had never met or spoken to him and he sent me a very abbreviated list of mines from which he had rich ore specimens. I had heard of virtually none of them and the hook was set! After some online conversation, I arranged to visit him in Washington and, after gaining his trust on my first visit, I was allowed full access to his sheds and basement that held very many treasures for someone seeking obscure ores. I flew to Seattle a few more times and greatly enjoyed his company and conversation. I even sold as a dealer at his annual Seattle Mineral Market show.
Please check my feedback and my other eBay items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. As always, your complete satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed and I even offer FREE return shipping on any item that fails to satisfy for any reason---you can't go wrong. I'm reminded of the firm pledge printed on the old Foote Mineral Company mineral catalogs from more than a century ago,
"Quality of specimens is assured as we permit return of specimens at our expense."
