This Commodore 64 is serial number P00455627, and has been cleaned, repaired, and tested for over 17 hours (1033 iterations) with Diagnostic Rev. 586220 and full diagnostic harness without any errors. The clock on the screen shot shows 5:06 because it flips after 12 hours. I also didn't realize I'd forgotten the keyboard dongle so the keyboard is reading "Open". I always test the keyboard manually with Trilogic 64 Doctor as well and it's working 100%.
The case and ke...yboard are in very good condition with no broken screw mounts (see photos). The computer did however have on broken case hinge that had to be replaced (see photos). I 3D print my own replacement parts for these out a C64 color matched filament. Commodore was notoriously inconsistent with there case color to begin with, but this filament is about as close as you can get to the original color of these bread bin cases.
It has motherboard assembly number 250407 with 8-pin NTSC video output. It has all the original MOS chips including an original SID. Most of the main (big) chips are socketed, but two of the ROMs and one CIA are not. All the original shielding is in place. Personally I recommend removing the cardboard top shield for better air flow, but for the sake of originality I've included the top shield on this unit.
Also, included is a basic RCA Composite video cable that should work with most modern TVs. I make the video cables myself and the cable is around 6' long. If you would prefer an S-video cable or original 1702 style monitor cable, message me after the auction and I can swap the composite cable for the cable of your choice at no additional charge.
The auction is for the Commodore 64 and video cable only, but I'm including a repaired power supply for free as a courtesy. Since the transformer and AC rails in the original PSU almost never fail, I open the PSU and bypass the failing DC voltage regulator with a new 5v buck converter connected to the diode bridge from the transformer. The buck converter is much more efficient and cooler than the old linear voltage regulator. This buck converter is rated up to 3amp max for short bursts and is stable at 1.5amp which matches the original output rating. This is the exact power supply I used during testing with no issues. I haven't had any problems with these, but you use the power supply at your own risk without any guarantee. It’s probably safer than most of the original power supplies at this point, but you can also find many quality professionally made new power supplies for sale online. If you do not want the power supply, please let me know. It's getting harder and harder to find original power supplies and parts to repair them.
