A rare original and historic probate deed for the sale of land in Simsbury, in the County of Hartford, Connecticut. The document is dated October 30, 1762, and is signed by JONATHAN PETTIBONE [1710-1776]. He was a member of a prominent family in Town, a veteran officer of the French and Indian War, and Colonel of the 18th Connecticut Regiment at the Battles of Long Island and Manhattan, where he died in 1776....Today, his sword, made by a New London silversmith, is in the Museum of the...
