The gauze that is visible is dark with old brown glue residue, visible tack marks and some damage and fraying. The colours of the wool are good with the purple of the grapes and the woman's dress having mellowed to a shade of blue. The last photo is of the reverse of the needlepoint and indicates how the colours would have looked when it was first stitched. Measures 11 3/4" x 15 1/4" to the edges of the stitch work and 13 1/2" x 17" to the edges of the gauze.
