An interesting original manuscript calling for a meeting of the Proprietors of the Town of Dummer, held in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, August 27, 1799, signed by JOHN HAVEN [1735-1813], an officer in the Revolutionary War, who commanded the New Hampshire troops charged with escorting British prisoners captured at Fort Ticonderoga to Rhode Island on parole by order of General Arnold. Also another Revolutionary War veteran NATHANIEL APPLETON HAVEN [1762-1831, a surgeon in the Continental ...Navy, who was held as prisoner on the Jersey Prison Ship near the end of the war. He later served in Congress...and CLEMENT STORER [1760-1830], a captain the militia and later a Major General, a member of Congress and also the United States Senate.
