Original Description:
Promissory note from the State of Connecticut Treasury Office dated June 1, 1782 measures 8 1/8 x 3 7/8 inches payable to W Wm (?) Combs who served in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army.
It is signed by State Treasurer John Lawrence who also signed on the reverse for some of the interest payments. Other interest payments appear to be signed by a Richard Butler.
