Montblanc 134 Celluloid Fountain Pen 1942. 14C O Full Flex Nib. Mint VERY RARE.
Made in Germany 1940 to 1942. Just serviced with New Cork. Its Metal Telescopic Piston works PERFECT as when NEW. Fabulous example. Pen has Zero cracks, splits or repairs etc. Never polished. Deep Imprints. Fabulous 14C full flex Oblique nib. Very creative writer full of personality.
Ultra Rare Wartime issue Cap has MONTBLANC - MEISTERSUCK imprinted around the cap opening rather than Gold Rings.... Dates 1940 to 1943 ONLY....! This cap is also a 1st issue of its type in that it is the exact same dimension's as the earlier 1930's caps and takes the same BHR (Black Hard Rubber) long top section (above the clip) with early Casein White star. By 1941 to 42 these Caps became longer in body with shorter white star tops made of celluloid. Also by 1942 the Barrel see through windows became much shorter. Only the early issue pre 1942 have these LONG line Amber/Red see through Windows. My favorite windows. Almost demonstrator length. This pens Barrel is as good as you will EVER see. Fabulous lines still visible and amazing Orange/Red Amber see through window. As good as they come. Zero Cracks or splits or repairs etc. Beautiful. Indeed the whole pen is crack free. I also love the Tie Clip. Again by 1942 they changed this Clip design to Art Deco. I think the Tie Clip is the best Montblanc Clip design ever. Very handsome indeed. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye this 78 year old pen looks positively New born. Very rare to find so clean. Also the perfect 14C nib is a superstar flex writer. Top draw.
Originally fitted with a vastly inferior Steel nib. Between 1938 to 1946 Montblanc was forced to make Steel nibs due to a Wartime ban on ANY Gold manufacture that was not Military related. This pens 14C nib is a correct Oblique nib like its original Oblique Steel nib that I removed. The Steel nibs suffer metal corrosion and this pens steel nib had lost an Iridium tip. As is common with Steel nibs. The replacement 14C nib is an upgrade of the highest order. Top Draw. Exactly the same as Montblanc fitted to 134 in the 1950s. Exact size match. The nib is perfect with ZERO damage or even signs of use. Very rare to find such perfect 1950s nib. The Rhodium centre plating is perfect still. Rare! this nib has seen very little use if any in its life. Never polished. Its perfectly sculpted Iridium tips are factory fresh. Good to last several more lifetimes. What a writer it is too...Fabulous line width variation abilities. Ultra creative nib. Simply by adjusting your wrist angle it can write Fine, Medium and Broad easily. Very elegant lines at normal pressure. However this nib also has fabulous flexibility that allows for even more line width variation on the down stroke. Can flex all the yay to Triple Broad. Wonderful flex quite soft and fantastic spring back. Ultra responsive nib. A real Joy to write with. Ultra smooth with zero paper scratch. Grade A++++++++++
