RARE U. S. OFFICER ' S CAVALRY SPUR - VERY SIMILAR TO THE MARKED 1864 CHRISTMAS SPUR

Item History & Price

Information:
Reference Number: Avaluer:55306
Original Description:
For your consideration is a really hard-to-find civil war period U.S. Cavalry Officer's spur.
You just don't see these rare spurs come up for auction very often. This is a very ornate spur with ribbons under the neck, ribbed sides and is stippled on the strap provisions. It is exactly like the U.S. Christmas spur which is marked with the December 24, 1864 patent date on the inside. However, this one does not have the date.
This spur is in excellent shape with a nice green patina.... It is not dug and appears to have a super cool period replacement rowel. The rowel spins freely and is well worn from use. It was probably made from a large cent but am unable to see and ruminates of any stampings. When it comes to federal spurs, this one is hard to beat. There are some rarer US spurs in the big dollar category but this one to have. If you have any questions or need additional pictures, just send me a message and I'll take care of it.
I have over 800 plus transactions with no negative feedback. I'll get her mailed out for $7.00 with insurance and tracking. I want it to be to your door ASAP because your paying and it's my duty to make you happy.
Best of luck!
