A rare and historic manuscript survey of Virginia military land warrants in the Kentucky region, purchased from various Revolutionary War veterans, and owned by JAMES TAYLOR JR. [1769-1848] and other speculators, undated but circa 1805 - 1810.....James Taylor Jr. was born in Virginia, and came at an early age in 1792 to develop land owned by his father in the newly settled state of Kentucky. He eventually became one of the wealthiest early settlers, and was founder of the city of Newpo...rt as well as a land speculator.
