An original printed and manuscript completed financial document involving a mortgage discharge, dated June 20, 1810 and signed by OLIVER WOLCOTT, JR. and JAMES A. HAMILTON.......OLIVER WOLCOTT, JR. [1760-1833] was a member of the Connecticut Pay Table during the Revolutionary War, served in the new federal government as Comptroller of the Treasury, and was appointed the second Secretary of the Treasury by President Washington in 1795 to succeed Alexander Hamilton. He was later to serve... as Governor of Connecticut 1817-1827, His father signed the Declaration of Independence.....JAMES A HAMILTON [1788-1878] was a prominent New York lawyer and politician, and son of Alexander Hamilton, whom Wolcott succeeded......One page, 7 1/2" x 12", hand made rag paper, slight damage at one fold affecting several words with archival repairs to folds on reverse, docketed, good condition.......Guaranteed original, a nice document signed by a great American patriot.....$7.50 priority mail shipping.
