A rare original printed and manuscript completed Revolutionary War order to pay the Ashford Committee of Supplies for uniforms and food provided to the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army, dated June 27, 1782, and signed by OLIVER WOLCOTT, JR., Fenn Wadsworth and Hezekiah Rogers, as members of the Connecticut Pay-Table, charged with paying the State expenses of the war........OLIVER WOLCOTT, JR. [1760-1833] was a member of the Connecticut Pay Table during the Revolutionary War, se...rved in the new federal government as Comptroller of the Treasury, and was appointed the second Secretary of the Treasury by President Washington in 1795 to succeed Alexander Hamilton. He was later to serve as Governor of Connecticut 1817-1827, His father signed the Declaration of Independence.....One page, 5 1/2" x 6 1/4", hand made rag paper, folds, docketed on reverse, very good condition.......Guaranteed original, a nice document signed by a great American patriot.....$5.00 shipping.
