An original and historic printed and manuscript completed Revolutionary War era Connecticut Treasurer's warrant for the arrest of Aaron Bates, Constable of the Town of Litchfield, for failure to pay the taxes that he had collected for the State. This impressive document is dated February 16, 1789, and signed by JEDEDIAH HUNTINGTON [1743-1818], as State Treasurer......JEDEDIAH HUNTINGTON was a son of General Jabez Huntington, and member of the Sons of Liberty. He served at the Siege of ...Boston and the Battle of Long Island. He commanded the 1st Connecticut Regiment, Continental Line, in defense of the Hudson River, served on the trial boards of General Charles Lee and British spy Major John Andre.
