A manuscript agreement dated February 10, 1820, between JOSEPH WHITON and his brother James Whiton of Lee, Massachusetts, to share in a tract of land which they have purchased in New Salem in the County of Ashtabula in the Connecticut Western Reserve in Ohio, land set aside for Revolutionary War veterans....JOSEPH WHITON [1759-1828] and his brother both served in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army during the Revolution, before moving to Lee after the war.
