WE CAN COMBINE SHIPPING ON MULTIPLE ITEMS IF THEY CLOSE WITHIN TWO DAYSOF EACH OTHER, AND CAN BE SENT IN ONE BOX.HAND WRITTEN DOCUMENTDATED 1753DIMENSIONSSingle page, about 7 3/4" x 12 1/2".DESCRIPTIONHand written holograph document.  Reads in part (spellings as written) "Know all men by these presents that I (name obscured) Westford in the county of Middlesex (partly obscured) Oliver Spaulding ....obliged unto William Read of said Groton (CT) ...New England husbanmen(?)...nine po...unds & twelve shillings lawfull money...the full paid to the s'd William Read or to his heirs...day of June domini 1753 and in the twenty fifth Majesties reign King Georg the Second...within five years after the decese of Timothy Spaulding senier of Westford Father to the s'd Thankfull Read....(witnesses) Josiah Burge / Ephraim Cumings / (signature) Oliver Spaulding x mark."  A second document on the back reads in part "...June the 21 1768 / For (illegible) Read I promis to pay to Paletiah Russel the sum of nothing in three months ....(illegible) Spaulding / Timothy Spaulding...."  I found a Peletiah Russell who born in Andover Massachusetts in 1727 and died in Nova Scotia in 1757.  Since she was eleven years dead, maybe that's why Timothy wouldn't pay her anything!CONDITIONOverall excellent.  Has the expected wear, age darkening and toning.  Some tears on the creases extending to the middle (visible in the images).  A FINE PRE-REVOLUTIONARY WAR AMERICAN DOCUMENT.All items shipped USPS priority mail unless otherwise noted.
